    n. The act of attending. The persons or number of persons that are present. The frequency with which a person is present.

    Galileo was born in Pisa, Italy, and studied at the University of Pisa (1581-1585). Galileo also found that the speed at which bodies fall does not depend on their weight. He documented these discoveries in his book called, "De Motu" (meaning "On Motion").

    Parents & Guardians must provide written documentation of absences to the Attendance Office. Please refer to the Attendance Guidelines section of the SFUSD Student & Parent/Guardian Handbook for District Policies and Guidelines and California Rules and Regulations.

  • EXCUSE NOTES

    The student note must contain the following information:
    • Student's First & Last Name
    • Date of Absence & Classes missed
    • Reason for absence (only legally excusable reasons will be accepted)
    • Parent Signature
    • Student Grade
    • Parent Contact Phone Number
    Written notes must be in INK. Notes written in pencil cannot be accepted.
