About
Location:
The Attendance Office is located in Rm 209 near the Francisco St. entrance.
Function:
Each day, teachers take role in the classroom and then submit “attendance strips” to the Attendance Office to record the attendance data to the Student Information System (SIS).
The school district sends the Attendance Data to the California Dept of Education. The funding used to educate San Francisco’s children is determined by student attendance.
Truancy:
Each evening (with some exceptions) the SIS attendance data is sent to the Autodialer System. This generates a computer phone call to notify parents that the student has been marked absent. If your child has an unauthorized absence, contact the student counselor to discuss the problem. Errors may only be corrected by written documentation from the teacher. Students must obtain an attendance printout from the attendance clerk and the teacher must change and sign the correction.

Further information may obtained by sending an e-mail with your question to attendance@galileoweb.org.
