LIVE CONCERT FUNDRAISER:“Close to You”, “We’ve Only Just Begun”, “Top of the World” – You’re invited to the Class of 2010 fundraising LIVE CONCERT featuring popular vocalist Collette Ikemi singing Karen Carpenter’s greatest hits and the Premier Dance Band PULSE performing hits from the 70s. JUNIORS: All Galileo Juniors! If you are interested in visiting a college campus or just learn more about college, make sure you come to the College & Career Center in Room 258. Talk to Bai or Mr. P about the upcoming field trips and learn about the Free S.A.T Reasoning Test Preparation program.
FREE CONDOMS: are available on Thursday’s at lunch in Room 159. SMOKING: If you or someone you care about is smoking, contact Nurse Bryant, Rm 159 for confidential information on how to quit or cut back.
WANNA MEET OTHER STUDENTS: and have a fun place to hang out during lunch? Wanna learn more about drugs and alcohol and ways to stay healthy? Join us on Wednesdays for a lunchtime group with the Vietnamese Youth Development Center – Talk to Dana in Room 151 for details.
HOLIDAY DOOR DECORATING CONTEST: will be Thursday, Dec. 17 during period 4. Turn in your application to the ASB Office by Dec. 14.
GALILEO SWIMMING TEAM: Informational meetings for those interested in swimming on the Galileo swim team will be held after school on Wednesday December 9th and Thursday December 17th in Coach Papa’s room, 413. Tryouts for the team will be at North Beach Pool, located at Lombard and Powell Streets, next to the North Beach Playground, Wednesday, January 6th, 2010, and Monday, January 11th, 2010, from 3:45-5:00PM. ALL new swimmers and past JV swimmers must tryout. Former Varsity swimmers are exempt. There will be a limited number of team members this year due to space at the pool. Season starts with the first day of practice on Monday January 18th, 2010, and goes through the second week of May. In order to participate in sports at Galileo you need at least a 2.00 GPA, and a completed athletic packet including current physical. Get yours soon. MULTICULTURAL ASSEMBLY: is Friday, Feb. 12. Clubs must submit their proposal to perform at the Executive Council meeting today or next Monday. STUDENT TALENT SHOW ASSEMBLY: is Friday, March 19. Students need to sign up with Futurama coordinator Lee Thomas in Room 119 after school. There will be an auction in late January.
PSAT SCORES: Now Available in Counseling Office. 10th and 11th graders who took the PSAT can receive their results and score reports from Mr. P in the College and Career Center in the counseling office. Stop by when you get a minute.
