PARKING COURTESY:  Please do not block other cars in both the Bay Street and the Polk Street parking lots.  If you have to block a car, do it only for a few minutes and leave your Galileo Parking Hanger in plain sight in your car.  If you do not have a Galileo Parking Hanger, see Bettie Grinnell in the Main Office.                                       Mrs. Grinnell


***Universal Precautions and Asthma Management/Emergency Information 2014-2015

In the WAD from this week that I emailed to all of you is information on the Universal Precautions and Asthma Management.  I also have the information along with the roster in the Main Office.  The district requires that you read the information and sign the roster indicating that you have read it.  Please stop by the Main Office by January 15, 2015 to sign the roster.     Mrs. Grinnell


ASB STORE is selling sweatshirts, lanyards, towels, beverages, and healthy snacks in room 150 during lunch time and after school.


ASB CARD STICKERS are sold in room 150 @ $5.00. You will get a free Galileo purple pen and planner. Limited supplies.

HARVEST FOOD FESTIVAL: is Friday, Nov. 21. Clubs must attend the Executive Student Council meetings every Monday in room 153 at 3:15 PM for details.


WINTER BALL: is Saturday, Nov.22 at Hyatt Hotel, Fisherman’s Wharf from 7 – 11 PM. Dress is semi-formal.There will be both dj dancing and karaoke. Free desserts and drinks. Photography by Prestige. Must bring ID with photo at the door. Doors will close at 8:30 PM.

All you have to do to get your yearbook is to:

Step1-Sign in to your galileoweb email.

Step 2-Go to search and type in “Tree ring”.

Step 3-Open up the most recent  “Tree ring” email and click the link to create an account.


If you’re having trouble logging into your galileoweb email, see Ms. Field in Rm.453 or Ms.Ly in Rm.414.



For 9th  10th 11th & 12th:

Many college admission counselors are visiting Galileo, please come meet them:

12/4 @ Lunch time RM 154           ACE Mentor Program          If you’re interested in learning more about what it is like to be an engineer, architect, or construction professional, check out this FREE mentorship program.  For details, check School Loop email.

12/17 @ 5:30pm Cafeteria             Financial Aid Workshop for all grade level parents & students.  It will be in Cantonese, English, and Spanish translation.

The Google Code-in is a contest to introduce pre-university students (ages 13-17) to the many kinds of contributions that make open source software development possible. The contest runs  email.


For 10th  11th & 12th:

11/14 @ Lunch time RM 154         CCSF Concurrent Enrollment       Do you want to earn both college AND high school credit at the same time, gain college experience, and be more competitive on your college applications?  If so check out the CCSF concurrent enrollment info.  Current juniors & seniors or sophomores who will have at least 120 credits by spring may enroll in a CCSF courses in this coming spring semester! To sign-up, you must attend this session in order to meet the deadlines!

If you’re interested in joining the 2015 Historical Black College & University Tour, it’s during the spring break and the cost is $1500 per student including everything.  For more details, please check your School Loop mail or ask Ms. Tachelle in the 2nd floor computer lab.

If you’re interested in getting a part time job or volunteering, check out the Employment & Volunteer Bulletin on the College & Career website or the bulletin board in the Counseling Center.


For 11th & 12th:

11/20 @ lunch time RM 154          If you are looking for a pre-apprenticeship or apprenticeship in the Construction field or similar trades, come check out this info. session.  The construction field is highly rewarding as well as high in demand in the current economy and it is an awesome opportunity to get some hands-on training.

Are you interested in earning 15 credits for taking an architecture class and or internship?  For details, check your School Loop email.

Turn in uAspire consent form ASAP!!!

-All students must turn in the consent form even if you are not interested in working with a uAspire financial aid adviser

-Turn in signed consent forms to the College and Career Center either to Michael or Ms. S. Chan

-If you did not receive a consent form in the mail or during the AC101 workshop, pick one up at the College and Career Center
