PARKING COURTESY:  Please do not block other cars in both the Bay Street and the Polk Street parking lots.  If you have to block a car, do it only for a few minutes and leave your Galileo Parking Hanger in plain sight in your car.  If you do not have a Galileo Parking Hanger, see Bettie Grinnell in the Main Office.                                       Mrs. Grinnell

STUDENTS

ASB STORE is selling sweatshirts, lanyards, towels, beverages, and healthy snacks in room 150 during lunch time and after school.

 

ASB CARD STICKERS are sold in room 150 @ $5.00. You will get a free Galileo purple pen and planner. Limited supplies.

SENIORS: Order your cap and gown, senior ring and graduation announcements online at www.jostens.com.

 

Petition for ASB & Class Office 2015-2016:

Do you wish to become a student officer, participate in various student activities, community services and gain leadership skills? The Student Government welcomes all Galileo Student to become active and contributive to the Galileo Community. Election information is posted outside the ASB Store 150 where you could also pick up a petition. Deadline to turn in ASB Petitions to ASB Office 150 is 4pm, March 2 and 4pm March 16 for class petitions. Get involved and we will see you soon!

All you have to do to get your yearbook is to:

Step1-Sign in to your galileoweb email.

Step 2-Go to search and type in “Tree ring”.

Step 3-Open up the most recent  “Tree ring” email and click the link to create  an acount. If you’re having trouble logging into your galileoweb email, see Ms. Field in Rm.453 or Ms.Ly in Rm.414

 

GALILEO ACADEMY COLLEGE & CAREER ANNOUNCEMENTS:

For 9th  10th 11th & 12th:

1/30 @ 6pm  Chinatown     YMCA                        Asian Business League Career Discovery Panel Discussion    A free event to hear interesting career stories from community leaders such as the San Francisco Assessor-Recorder Carmen Chu, KTVU Channel 2 News Anchor/Reporter Claudine Wong and many more.  Food will be provided.  RSVP is needed.  For more details, check School Loop email or the College & Career Center calendar.

1/31 @ 8am @ Dominican University      Free open house for juniors & seniors.  Please RSVP.  For more details check School Loop email or the College & Career Center calendar.

1/31 @ 9am @ CSU East Bay       Free educational & college-related workshops for first generation, minority students & their Families.  Free parking, lunch, shuttle for BART riders.  RSVP: www.csueastbay.edu/educationsummit

If you’re interested in getting a part time job or volunteering or internship, check out the posting on the College & Career website or on the bulletin board in the Counseling Center.

Summer programs are highly valued by college.  If you’re interested in applying for fun and educational summer programs, please check out the list posted on the wall outside of room 255, or on School Loop, or the list on the College & Career website.

For 10th & 11th:

Young women: if you are interested in computer science related education, Girls Who Code is a FREE 7 week course for you.  It also includes trips to top tech companies & mentorship from amazing women in the industry.  Application deadline is 2/5.  For more info., please see Ms. S. Chan or your counselor.

For 10th, 11th & 12th:

If you’re interested in joining the 2015 Historical Black College & University Tour, it’s during the spring break and the cost is $1500 per student including everything.  For more details, please check your School Loop mail or ask Ms. Tachelle in the 2nd floor computer lab.

For 11th & 12th:

1/28 @ 11:45am RM 154    Job Corps      It is the nation’s oldest and largest federally funded career skills training and education program for economically disadvantaged youth ages 16 through 24.  They provide room and board, 3 meals, vocational training, job placement, and high school education.

2/26  @ Skyline College     A free conference including breakfast and lunch for African American juniors & seniors who is interested in learning more about Skyline College and resources on campus. Please let either Ms. S. Chan or Mr. Donald Harper know if you are interested in going by 1/29.

If you’re interested in getting scholarships for college, check out the list on the College & Career website or on School Loop, or the Scholarship bulletin board in the Counseling Center.

For 12th:

1/28 @ 2:30pm  RM 104          Skyline Community College Info. & App. Workshop

If you plan to or want to attend Skyline in San Bruno city, you must come to this last application workshop.

If you want to apply for CCSF and take the placement exams at Galileo on 2/5, please see Ms. S. Chan by 1/28.

1/29 @ 5:30pm         Auditorium    Cash For College    Seniors & parents are welcomed to come and win a brand new lap top and complete the FAFSA or the CA Dream Act.

The Uaspire student roster has been selected.  182 students will have the honor to work with Michael; please look out for his email to you.
