PARKING COURTESY:  Please do not block other cars in both the Bay Street and the Polk Street parking lots.  If you have to block a car, do it only for a few minutes and leave your Galileo Parking Hanger in plain sight in your car.  If you do not have a Galileo Parking Hanger, see Bettie Grinnell in the Main Office.                                       Mrs. Grinnell

SENIOR BREAKFAST: is May 22nd in the Cafeteria at 8:30am.


CAPS AND GOWNS: Will be distributed on Thursday, May 21st in the Auditorium at 10:00am.


GRADUATION:  Wednesday, May 27th at 1:00pm at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.


For 9th, 10th, & 11th:

5/17 9am-5pm @ Stanford University in Palo Alto        Pre-Vet. Club            If you’re 15 years old, interested in veterinary school or working with animals, check out this FREE event with lunch.  Hear talks from veterinarians in various careers, talk to current veterinary students & alumni from different veterinary schools.  Learn about ways to volunteer locally and get valuable experience caring for animals.

Chinese speaking students: Thrivent Financial is will provide FREE professional mentorship to 12 high school students with 6 mentors from different professions.  To apply: www.Lcholyspirit.org or call 415-661-1120 for questions.

PAGE for Teens is a non-profit dedicated to helping high school students plan for their careers and futures. They coordinate shadow sessions where teens go to a professional’s workplace and get Professional Advice, Guidance, and Exposure (PAGE) about different careers, and also have the great experience of seeing what it is like to be in a cool work environment.  For details or to sign up: https://www.pageforteens.org/

If you’re interested in getting a part time job or volunteering or internship, check School Loop, or the posting on the College & Career website or on the bulletin board in the Counseling Center.

Summer programs are highly valued by college.  If you’re interested in applying for fun and educational summer programs, please check out the list posted on the wall outside of room 255, or on School Loop, or the list on the College & Career website or see Ms. K. in room 458A on Tues. & Fri. afternoon.


For 10th & 11th:

Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandize (FIDM) has offered our school 2 scholarships.  This scholarship is worth $300 each for a three day summer class from 6/23-6/25 (all day).  It is good for any FIDM campus.  Priority is given to current juniors.

If you’re interested, please let Ms. S. Chan know by 5/11/15.

Ladies, if you plan to or want to apply to Mount Holyoke, a top liberal arts women’s college in Massachusetts State, please let Ms. S. Chan know.  She will be happy to recommend you for a FREE fly-in program.  Please let her know by 5/15.


For 12th:

5/14 2:15pm-3:15pm RM 555         Scholarship & Internship for SFSU          If you plan to attend SFSU, be sure to come to this meeting so that you can apply for potential paid internship and scholarships for SFSU.

Scholarships you can apply to:

Get Girls Golfing Scholarship ($1,500): Graduating senior, Must of have played high school golf, Attending a 2 or 4 year college as a full time student, Intends to play golf on a college team.  Apply by 5/15/2015. https://www.mygolfinstructor.com/scholarship/

SF Promise Scholarship ($1,000 renewable annually): 2.5 GPA, Completed FAFSA, Attend SFSU, Earn at least 24 units per academic year (which is equivalent to being a full-time student).  Apply by 5/15/2015.  www.sfpromise.sfsu.edu
