PARKING COURTESY: Please do not block other cars in both the Bay Street and the Polk Street parking lots. If you have to block a car, do it only for a few minutes and leave your Galileo Parking Hanger in plain sight in your car. ASB store in room 150 is selling the popular Galileo planners. Cost is $1.00 with a current ASB card sticker.
ASB store in room 150 is open during lunch time and after school selling Galileo sweatshirts, planners, lanyards, poms poms, mugs, healthy snacks, & beverages. We sell also ASB card stickers @ $5 to be used for discounts for dances, yearbook, and store items.

9/15 @ 3:15pm @104: Santa Fe University of Arts and Design: this is a comprehensive performing arts college in Santa Fe, New Mexico and they provide excellent scholarship opportunities.

9/16 @ 5:30pm @ Cafeteria: How to Choose the Most Ideal College Presentation for all grade level parents and students. It will be presented in Chinese, English and Spanish.
9/17 @ 11:45am @104: Wishbone: this program can help fund your dream summer program, whether it be studying at a particular college, traveling abroad, or backpacking with a wilderness program. Come check out how easy the process is.
9/18 @ 11:45am @104: Smith College: A small liberal arts women college in MA. It’s well known and competitive. It offers a fly-in program as well. Come meet a Galileo alumni who recently graduated from Smith College.
9/19 @ 10-3pm @ Mission High School: U CAN go to College: this is a historically black college & university fair. For seniors, if you bring HS transcript (bring many copies), SAT/ACT scores (if available), 2 letters of recommendation (if available), Person essay (optional), Resume (bring many copies), you can get on the spot admission decisions.
9/20 @ 2-4pm @ DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on 2050 Gateway Place, San Jose for Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): Free information session. To see a list of other meetings visit: mitadmissions.org/visit/travel
For 11th, 12th:
Step to College is open for registration. The class is taught by a SF State professor every Friday from 3:30 – 5:30pm at Galileo. Students receive elective HS credit and 3 college units for each semester. If you’re interested, please see Mr. Harper in the Counseling Center.
Many well-known and well respected private colleges offer fly-in programs now. They will cover transportation cost, room and board for you to visit their campus for 2 to 3 days, so that you can decide if you like the college enough that you will apply there.

917 @ 2:45pm- 3:00pm @104: Clark University: this is a private medium sized college in MA. It promotes and supports students to do social change and has generous scholarships.
9/17 @ 3:00pm- 4:15pm @104: College Application Workshop: Come and work on your college application and get your questions answered.
9/23 @ 5:30pm @ Cafeteria: The College Application Presentation for 12th students & parents. It will be presented in Chinese, English and Spanish.
The QuestBridge National College Match is now open and will be due by 9/28/15. This maybe a full ride scholarship for a prestige college. If you qualify for free or reduced-price lunch program, family income is less than $60,000 and have high grades, check it out: www.questbridge.org
All seniors, please turn in your uAspire consent form to room 209 as soon as possible. Look for Michael, your Galileo uAspire advisor if you need a form. He is here to help seniors throughout the financial aid process.
The Culinary Arts and Hospitality Studies (CAHS) at City College of SF is now accepting applications for the Spring 2016. Application deadline is 11/9/15. This program helps you earn an A.S. Degree for a career in The Hospitality Industry: Culinary Arts Management, Food Service Management, and Hotel Management.
