Congratulations to Galileo senior Mary Le for placing first in the Non-Fiction category in the 2012 Young at Art Festival with her piece: “The Bridge I Run On.”
In honor of the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge, this year’s students were asked to incorporate the theme: “Bridging Us All” – Our community, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay”.” Mary Le and other winners from various schools such as Lowell, SOTA, Lincoln and other schools will be honored at a ceremony. All are invited to the ticket-free event to honor the recipients and to listen to selected winning pieces. Details for ceremony follow.

What: 2012 Young at Arts Festival for Literary Arts Award and Reading Ceremony
When: Saturday, May 12, 2012 @ 2 p.m.
Where: In the Koret Theater in the de Young Museum, located at 50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive (off of 10th Avenue) in Golden Gate Park. Parking can be found in the streets surrounding the museum or in the museum garage. The theater is off the main lobby across from the ticket counters.
Why: To honor senior Mary Le who placed first in the non-fiction category for her piece, “The Bridge I Run On” and to honor and listen to selected award winning recipients, including Mary who will read from her piece.
