GALILEO PTSA EDUCATION AND ENRICHMENT GRANT APPLICATIONS: The Galileo PTSA is accepting Grant Applications from teachers and staff in need of funding for projects, equipment and/or supplies. We urge staff to apply for these grants as last year we did not use all of our budgeted money. For further information please visit galileoweb.org/ptsa. CAL-GRANT: Seniors, you may still submit your Cal-Grant forms to Bai Zhen, in room 258F.  Please submit it as soon as possible.

JUNIORS: if you have not taken college and career, please see Ms. Ho during lunch or after school to sign up! You will need to complete this graduation requirement before the end of your junior year as the college and career course will no longer be offered next year to seniors. The course is offered every Tuesday and Friday after school for the month of April and will continue into May, if necessary.


AP CHEMISTRY: For students, who signed-up for AP chemistry, next year, please come to room 406 after school on Friday, June 4 to pickup your textbook and to get information on your summer assignment.               Mr. Matsumoto
SENIOR BREAKFAST: is Monday, May 21 in the cafeteria starting at 8:00 AM.

CAPS AND GOWNS: will be delivered on Monday, May 21 in the auditorium at 10:30 AM. Those seniors, who did not pre-order, can still purchase them. Cost is $38.

GRADUATION: Ceremony at Bill Graham’s Civic Auditorium will be on Wednesday, May 23 starting at 1:00 PM. The keynote speaker will be Mayor Ed Lee.

Event: Gates Millenium Scholarship and APIASF scholarship information session.

Date/Time: Thursday, May 17th after-school (from 2:10-3 pm) in room 255,

Details: Phong Luu from Asian and Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF) and the Gates Millennium Scholars Program (GMS), two national scholarship organizations that serve Asian American and Pacific Islander students will be sharing information about the eligibility requirements and best practices for counselors and teachers to help prepare students to complete a thorough scholarship application. According to him, students are 30% more likely to complete an application when they have educators assisting with the application process. With a focus in the STEM fields at Galileo, there are opportunities for some of these students to earn 10-year scholarships from the Gates Foundation! Students are welcome to show up to learn more about scholarship opportunities.

SENIOR RAFFLE TICKETS will be sold at the ASB Office. 1st prize is a free Bay Area Limousine (2 hours limit) for the prom. 2nd prize is Men’s Wearhouse tuxedo rental for prom. 3rd prize is Hoogasian corsage and boutoniere for prom. Ticket costs $1.00. Drawing will be at ASB Election Assembly on April 16. Money will go to pay for senior graduation expenses.

ASB STORE: is selling Galileo t-shirts, sweatshirts, lanyard key chains, pennants, lab books, pens, pencils, book covers, district approved nutritional snacks and beverages during lunch time and after school in room 150.

ASB CARD STICKERS:ASB is selling ASB card stickers @ $5.00 in room 150. Discounts will be offered for Galileo sweatshirts, t-shirts, dances, and other school spirit items.

SENIORS: Come by Ms. Chan’s office to pick up your latest transcript during lunch or after school. Please also check my webpage galileoweb.org/chan and your school loop email for updates on important information pertaining to seniors.

SENIORS: Keep in mind that you won’t be able to graduate without the college/career requirement. See me as soon as possible if you have not completed the requirement.
Those who still need to submit the Advance PE form, the absolute deadline is April 20, 2012.

CAL-GRANT: Seniors, you may still submit your Cal-Grant forms to Bai Zhen, in room 258F.  Please submit it as soon as possible.

ATTENTION JUNIORS, SOPHOMORES, AND FRESHMEN: STANFORD UNIVERSITY campus field trip on Thursday, April 5 (all day). Priority for junior students who are highly interested in Stanford. 

Students will have a tour of the campus, informational panel from students, and will have all-you-can-eat at Stern Dining Commons, one of the best at Stanford. If interested, go see Bai Zhen in room 258F for a permission slip. Thanks.

 SENIOR RAFFLE TICKETS will be sold at the ASB Office. 1st prize is a free Bay Area Limousine (2 hours limit) for the prom. 2nd prize is Men’s Wearhouse tuxedo rental for prom. 3rd prize is Hoogasian corsage and boutoniere for prom. Ticket costs $1.00. Drawing will be at ASB Election Assembly on April 13. Money will go to pay for senior graduation expenses.
SENIOR PROM: at City Hall on Saturday, April 28 from 8 pm to midnight. Dress is formal. Tickets will be sold at ASB Office. Prices are:
March 19 – 23 > $75 with current ASB card sticker and $85 without. Guest ticket $90.
April 2 – 20 > $85 with ASB and $90 w/o
April 23 – 27 > All tickets $90
Money will help pay for both prom and graduation expenses.

ASB ELECTION ASSEMBLY:has been rescheduled to Thursday, April 12 during a double period 6. Voting for ASB candidates will be held on Friday, April 13 during period 6 for 9th – 11th graders and Monday, April 16 for the 12th graders during period 6.

 GRADUATION REHEARSALS: for seniors will be April 17 – 20 in the auditorium.
