Scholarship Elks Program - Due Jan 9th

The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2009 competition.

  • Any high school senior who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to apply.
  • Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks.
  • College students are not eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; resident alien status does not qualify.
  • Male and female students compete separately.

Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.

All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university.

Applications must advance through local, district and state competition to reach the national competition. The Chicago office of the Elks National Foundation will announce the 500 national winners, and notify them in writing, around April 15, 2009. (Many local Lodges, districts and state Elks associations award their own scholarships through this program. These scholarships are not to be confused with the 500 Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarships.)

Georgia McHugh $5000 Scholarship
Honoring a High School Senior for Scholarship, Leadership and Community Service�
 �
The Georgia McHugh Scholarship recognizes up to two high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding scholarship, leadership and community service.  The award is limited for use the first year of college and will be paid directly to the recipient’s school.�

Eligibility:
Students who are currently seniors in a San Francisco high school and who are planning to attend an accredited four-year California college or university
Recipient must maintain a 2.75 GPA
Financial need will be considered
Must be a resident of the City and County of San Francisco

Deadline:
Applications must be postmarked by February 23, 2009.

California Association of Collectors, Inc. Scholarship

Available for all California high school seniors to use at any accredited college, university or vocational school.  To qualify you must write an essay on the following topic: importance of establishing and maintaining good credit during your college years.  Must be typed, 12pt font, double spaced, and a minimum of 700 words and a maximum of 1,000 words.  Entry must include the completed application and the essay.  Click here to apply and for more information.  Mail entries to: CAC Educational Scholarship Foundation P.O. Qualifications:

  • Graduate HS in the spring of 2009
  • Attend a 4 year college within the 50 states
  • Own and operate a genuine business, non-profits are eligible
  • Have at lease one paid employee
  • Complete our online application by January 25, 2009

Up to $10,000 per academic year for 4 years to any US college

AAA SAFETY POSTER CONTEST

 Students have the option of presenting a poster or a 30-second TV Public Service Announcement (PSA).  The message should caution teens to avoid drunk driving, speeding, distracted driving, or other dangers.  Up to $18,000 will be awarded at the National level.  Video formats that yield sufficient quality to be used for TV broadcast: HDV, DVD, DVCam, Mini DV.  Email marie_haddad@csaa.com for more information.  Deadline: Jan 31, 2009
