One Page School Plan

The One Page School Plan is a summary of our Academic Plan, our WASC action plan, and all the other little things that come together to make our school. This information is presented through two lenses- the first is the transitions which we are supporting for students and staff, and the second lens is an ongoing process of Equity Review. We made document so that we could use it to build common understanding among the staff of what we’re doing and why we’re doing it. It was also useful for the leadership team, as everyone’s work was reflected in the document and it made it clear for the need for all of those individuals to communicate with each other. What is missing from the one-page overview is specific measures for student outcomes, but it is a summary of our approach to school improvement.

Inventory of Mindsets and Skill Sets

The inventory of department chair mindsets and skill sets is providing the backbone for the one-on-one conversations between my principal, me, and each department chair. We are using it as a tool for our department chairs to reflect on where they are now in terms of their growth as a leader. The one-on-one conferences are a time to talk with the chairs about what supports they need from the administration in order to be able to move along the continuum towards the goals (right hand column.) We will use the information from these conversations to inform our August training and ongoing professional development
