Jose Marti & Martin Luther King Jr: Brothers in Thought

January 8, 2006

“Anyone who offends the sacred freedom of our adversaries is reprehensible, and more so if he or she does it in the name of freedom.”
-Jose Marti

“We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline.”
-Martin Luther King Jr.

“There is no forgiveness for acts of hatred. Daggers thrust in the name of liberty are thrust into liberty’s heart.”
-Jose Marti

“In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.”

Español 5 Examen Final

Espectáculo Especial

Hay que hacer un video de 15 minutos. Puede trabajar solo, o en grupos de dos o tres. Tiene que planear tres partes, usando fotos, dibujos, mapas y accesorios. Hay que presentar una sección de noticias, una con el tiempo, con un meteorólogo, y un anuncio. Tiene que completar el proyecto en tres semanas.

We will film your news show in class. Choose your group carefully, because 30 % of your final grade depends on this Project. You may work alone, with a partner, or in a group of three persons. If it is not completed on time, you cannot get an “A” in Spanish 5 Honors. Each segment should last approximately five minutes. All members of the group must participate. As always, use your imagination. News and weather do not have to be the actual news and weather. The comercial can be for a real or an invented product.

I. News segment: Use the preterite tense and the imperfect tense to recap last week’s news. You must use each tense six times. You may combine sentences.

II. Weather segment: Use the future tense to give the weather in four different regions. There must be at least five different weather conditions, and you must use at least three different verbs.

III. Commercial segment: Use the imperative at least five times, using a different verb each time.
