See me for application to night school at John Adams immediately. Registration starts on January 7th and is on a first come, first serve basis.

Swimming Graduation Requirement

Seniors MUST pass the swimming graduation requirement in order to receive a high school dipolma. Swimming tests are conducted every Wednesday morning at 8:00am by Mr. Sklarz at the Rossi Pool (Arguello Blvd. and Anza St. in the Richmond District). For instructions and pass to take the test, please see me during lunch/afterschool. A formal excused note from parent/guardian/medical doctor are also accepted.

Cathay Pacific, through their I Can Fly Program, offers high school students the opportunity to step behind the scenes of their commercial airline company. To be a part of their 9 week, FREE program, you must: 2.0 GPA or higher, transportation to and from the SF International Airport (BART takes you there). May Not/Will Not Graduate Letters Sent Home

Letters telling students and parents/guardians whether or not they may graduate was sent home last week. If your child received a D or F on their 2nd quarter report card, you should have received this letter. Although a D is considered to be a passing grade for graduation, it is not accepted by colleges. A D letter grade is close to a C and a F. If your students is receiving a D, please encourage and support them in raising the grade to a C. If a F is received, they must raise their grade otherwise they will need to make up the class in night school or risk graduation.

826 Valencia is holding a two day intensive workshop to help students with their college essays this weekend! First day, you will disect a real personal statement written by a student and learn what should be included. Second day, you will work one on one with a 826 tutor on your own essay/personal statement. Bring in your personal statements/college essay questions on the first day.
