Pass The Buck Game

Adapted from a post on Dave’s ESL Cafe
- Everyone gets 25 one-dollar bills
- The teacher asks each student a question from lessons previously taught, such as “What am I wearing?,” “What color is my hair?”
- If the student answers correctly, everyone must give that student a dollar
- If the student answers incorrectly, that student must give each and every other student one dollar
- Students with zero dollars can still participate and win money if they correctly answer a question
- Questions can be about spelling, Galileo, names of classmates, names of objects, etc.
- Student with the most money at the end gets a special treat
Anti-Bullying Workshops

Our class will participate in Anti-Bullying workshops this Friday, May 30th during 5th and 6th periods. Bullying has become an increasingly serious issue at school. Come educate yourself about the signs of bullying, how to protect yourself, who you should speak to if you are a victim of bullying, and how to recognize if you are a perpetrator.
Please contact Ms. Lim in Room 254 for more information.
Unit 3, Ch 3 Quiz & Final Exam

The unit 3, chapter 3 quiz will be on Wednesday, May 28th.
The Visions Final Exam will cover Units 2 and 3, and will include speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Portfolios Due
May 26, 2008
Your portfolios are due on Friday, June 6th during 5th and 6th periods. Remember, you must have the following completed:
- Cover with your name, ELD level, teacher name, and semester/year
- Completed table of contents
- Letter to the Reader
- Something About Me paragraph
- My Special Friend essay (Writing as a Process)
- Selected best class work and projects
- Written reflections of best work
- 1 evaluation each from a teacher, a classmate, and a friend
Portfolios that are missing any of the above elements will be marked down accordingly.
