Pathway Ad Campaigns

INTERVIEWS FOR AD CAMPAIGN

Your team will be doing MARKET RESEARCH before you start planning your ad campaigns for Galileo’s Pathways.

You need to interview students who have chosen the particular pathway (at least 5 students). This is the information you need to collect:

  • Why did you choose this pathway?
  • Would you recommend this pathway to other students?
  • What is the best “selling point” about this pathway?

You need to interview students (11th & 12th graders) who did not choose the pathway. Your ideal situation would be a student who requested the pathway, then changed their mind. This is the information you need to collect:

  • Why did you not choose this pathway?
  • If you aren’t in a pathway because you wanted to take other classes, what classes and why?
  • What could this pathway have done to attract you to join?

Then interview at least 5 sophomores. They have been at Galileo long enough that they have heard about pathways, and they may or may not choose a pathway next year. Here’s the information you need:

  • What have you heard about this pathway?
  • Based on what you’ve heard, would you consider/not consider joining?
  • What is the best “selling point” about this pathway?
  • What do you see as negatives if you joined this pathway?

Then interview the lead teacher for the pathway. Mr. Machtay can provide the names. It’s your responsibility to find the teacher and set a time. Here’s the information you need:

  • What do you consider the best “selling point” about your pathway?
  • What is your biggest issue/problem in recruiting students?

Based on your interviews, your team should write up a report on what you’ve learned. This report will lead you to THE ESSENTIAL QUESTION(S). What is the challenge to this pathway in recruiting students.
