Personal Portfolio Video

Each student will make their own Personal Portfolio Video (PPV). You can use your finished video when you apply for summer internships or jobs, or to colleges, or for scholarships.

  • Work together with your classmates. In order to do your own interview, you will need a cameraperson and audio person. In return, you should help out on other students’ videos.
  • Start collecting footage and still photos. Do you play a sport? Get images of you at practice. Do you play a musical instrument? Get footage of you playing. Do you love skateboarding? Get it on camera. Do you volunteer to read stories to little kids at the library? You need an image or footage for that.
  • Answer the following questions:
  1. What are your INTERESTS? (What do you like? What do you care about?)
  2. What have you learned being part of the Media Arts Pathway? (or what have you learned during your time in high school?)
  3. What are your ACCOMPLISHMENTS? (What are you proud of?)
  4. What are your GOALS? (Where do you want to be in 4 years? What do you want to be doing in 10 years?)

You can adapt this video project to your special interests and goals. Certain students have produced PPVs that don’t include any dialogue (selected words on screen instead). Other students have produced PPVs that don’t show their own face (B-roll of student artwork instead). Speak with Mr. Machtay about other ways to approach this assignment.

IMPORTANT: EACH STUDENT WILL RECEIVE THEIR OWN GRADE FOR THEIR FINISHED PPV. EXPORTED 4/17/17.
