Jobs that Need to be Filled

You need out-of-class hours to pass this class. You can earn hours by volunteering for a job and fulfilling the job responsibly.

PROJECT MANAGER:

This student (or 2 students) will keep track of all the videos we shoot for Galileo. Who videotaped? On what date? Was the footage uploaded to a computer, what number computer? Who is editing this footage? When is it expected to be completed? When is it complete? Has it been transferred to the broadcast computer? Is it in a broadcast, if so what date?

CALENDAR MANAGER:

This student (or 2 students) will keep track of upcoming school activities that need to be videotaped. Remind Mr. Machtay to ask for volunteers in advance of the school activity. OR, that student could make sure someone will be there to videotape.

EQUIPMENT MANAGER:

At the start of class, the Equipment Manager should make sure all cameras are plugged in and charing. Five minutes before the end of each class, the Equipment Manager should make sure all cameras and microphones are accounted for (either a camera should be in each slot or a student ID card). At times (definitely when there’s a substitute teacher) only the Equipment Manager can enter the Equipment Room.

BROADCAST TEAMS:

These 3-person teams will rotate every 6 weeks (at the end of each marking period).

ACTIVITIES: Make sure you’re announcing all upcoming activities at Galileo. Most of these activities are fun, therefore your team should figure out how to make this segment fun and entertaining.

OPPORTUNITIES: This team needs to coordinate with Ms. Serena Chan. All visiting colleges need to be announced. Can this team figure out an easy way to list upcoming scholarships? How can you make the Opportunities video easier to watch and appealing?
