SF ZINE FEST takes place Sunday, September 3rd. Mr. Vedawala is Volunteer Coordinator, and he needs more volunteers. If you volunteer at Zinefest for at least 2 hours, you can take 2 hours of out-of-class hours. https://goo.gl/forms/H1uIZh51biHa9YVl1

CINE CLUB offers free screenings of classic films on Friday evenings, at the SF Art Institute, 800 Chestnut St. For their complete schedule go to artandfilm.org. If you attend one of these movies and write your opinion, responding to some questions, you can receive extra credit. (In Mr. Machtay’s humble opinion, all the movies scheduled in September are great.)

Mr. Machtay invites students specifically to view THE SEVEN SAMURAI on Friday, September 15th, snacks at 6 pm, screening at 6:30 pm, 800 Chestnut Street. In Mr. Machtay’s humble opinion this is the greatest movie ever made… oh, and you should probably also know that the movie is 3 hours, 40 minutes long (but every single shot is perfect, thank you).
