  • take attendance by having students sign-in on a sheet of paper; label this paper with the period & class name
  • pass-out handout on value of study groups   [password = 94109G; print & photocopy for class]
  • student assignment
    • summarize the article
    • state your opinion if you agree / disagree with article author’s point regaring the value / importance of study groups in student achievement - justify your response
  • collect handouts and classwork assignment at the end of the period

For all classes,

  • take attendance by having students sign-in on a sheet of paper; label this paper with the period & class name
  • goto computer lab & do online assignment
    • honors & AP chemistry
    • chemistry: IMF (intermolecular force); do an “internet search” on one of the below topics, then write your answer to one of these questions.
      • what are the applications of chromatography & what is the rationale / basis of chromatography ?
      • what are the applications of radioimmunoassays & what is the rationale / basis of radioimmunoassay ?
      • what are the applications of ELISA (enzyme linked immunoassay) & what is the rationale / basis of ELISA ?
  • collect assignment at the end of the period

  • students read and answer the below questions - ask students to justify their response
    • Who should get the Nobel prize for the discovery of insulin ?
    • Who should get the Noble prize for the discovery of the structure of DNA ?
    • Was the Tuskegee syphilis study appropriate ?
  • and develop an additional 5 questions & answers for each handout
  • collect handouts and classwork assignment
