“Poem a Day”

April 25, 2006

For the month of April, Poetry.com has been sending you a poem a
day.  It was a requirement, that once you establish joining the
site, you should submit your responses for two poems per week for the
entire month of April.  Some of you have forgotten, some are just
a little behind.  Please submit responses online to equate to two
poems per week for April, which totals to 8 responses you must
have.   Use the class time today, and complete the
assignments prior to the end of the grading period.

A Poem A day

April 4, 2006

Poem-A-Day by email

As part of National Poetry Month, the Academy of American Poets is offering a cool service:

Beginning April 1, Poets.org will send one new poem to your inbox each day to celebrate National Poetry Month. The poems have been selected from new books published this spring.

There’s also a publishing opportunity for readers of poetry, called Life / Lines, described this way:
The Academy of American Poets is now asking poets and readers to share the lines most vital to them, along with notes about the precise situation that summoned them to mind. A selection of the lines collected will be published on Poets.org throughout the year.

Sign Up for the Poem-a-Day and respond to 2 poems per week.  A response can be something as easy as a critique of the poem, or a journal about the theme, or a connection to your personal life.
